1. What cookies are
Cookies are small browser records. PEA Africa also uses session storage and local storage for similar purposes, such as remembering theme and data-saver preferences. This Policy uses “cookies” to describe these technologies together where appropriate.
2. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary: authentication, session security, CSRF protection, load management, fraud prevention, and checkout continuity.
- Preferences: light or dark theme, data saver, language, filters, and accessibility choices.
- Performance: aggregated diagnostics that help identify slow, broken, or underused features.
- Third-party service: payment, media, support, or embedded-service technologies used only when that service is requested.
3. Your controls
You can block or delete cookies through browser settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through the platform because core login, security, and payments may stop working. You can reset theme and data-saver preferences by clearing site data.
4. Duration
Session cookies expire when the session ends or according to the security timeout. Persistent preference records remain until their configured expiry or until you clear them. Provider cookies follow the provider’s published retention settings.
